Work as a Past Pleasures Ltd interpreter can be incredibly varied; from a Bronze Age farmer to a WWII Air Warden and every period and character in between. 

The work is interesting and exciting, but at the same time very demanding. All our interpreters possess a broad range of skills, both academic and performance based and are generally educated to degree level or have the equivalent knowledge gained in another environment. The most important requirement is a passion for history and an ability to communicate complex information in an accessible fashion.

Please note: in order to join the Past Pleasures Ltd database of self employed interpreters, you must undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check. Additionally, security clearance from Historic Royal Palaces will be needed in order to work at Hampton Court Palace or HM Tower of London.
